Is there amount of miles on a old truck I should stay away from? Like see trucks from early 00’s with 1.2 miles. Do I stay away?

Get a newer truck, states will be changing registration laws by the end of this year and you won’t be registering older trucks in several states. Soooo, unless you need a boat anchor buy the newest you can get.

I’ve had too many problems with Freightliner and Detroit engine I went through three trucks in Two years, freightliner can’t really survive dead winter conditions 25° and below, if they do survive dead winter conditions, when the temperature starts to heat up the metals in the truck expands and that’s when the problems begin to start, too many problems occur with Detroit engines, at 108,040 to 130,000 miles I started having serious problems with the Detroit engine and a lot of problems with the truck itself.

108,040 miles is too damn young for truck to have problems, i used to shit on the Cummins engine over the Detroit, making excuses for the Detroit engine breaking down; decided to fuck with the Cummins X 15 KW, I’m at 158,447 miles no problems whatsoever, been in dead winter conditions -12° and lower, It’s summertime now, driving through conditions higher than 115° Fort Worth Texas still no problems, And I’m a very rough driver, still no problems

I drive reefer, I’m between 7.1 to 9.6 mpg’s from Riverside California to door ham North Carolina at a little over 78,000 pounds, 9 to 10 Hour Drive days and nights

Nevertheless purchasing an old truck means that you’ll have to purchase replacement parts throughout the year because of multiple problems with an old truck, It’s better to start off with new High quality trucks , I personally would not want to invest the new parts on an old truck within a short period of time, it’s just not financially smart, Why would I want to lose money first to build that back up to start making actual profit, that just don’t make any sense dude, I prefer a new truck to start making profit building up in ‘saving’ for replacement parts

It takes 200 gallons to go 800 miles, I have a 175 gallon unit that means I get to go 100 miles for free, because the X 15 is extremely fuel-efficient
