It is all the huge companies trying to push all the owner operators out of the industry. Swift, and all the other big companies are pushing for the bull shit eld shit.
We own all pre 99 pete's and intel they pass the law to have to drive a newer truck then elds can suck a huge cock such as all the bitch boy company drivers do already.
All of you who drive for big ass corporate company's do not know the struggle because ur company has 1000 plus trucks and can cover the loads more then us owner operators.
We have been owner operators with generation of truckers and it has always been b boy truckers to jump on the government nuts.
With paper logs there is fudge room. Period.
Never have had a violation in over 28 years and not about to.
Fuck e logs and all of you who suck the nuts to join the band wagons.

Its a stupid system, at least they should make it reasonable. give drives 13 hours of drive time, and therefore a 16 hours of work per day. In Canada the drive time is 13 hours.
But it should all be abolished. they should just put an electronic device in the truck that shows how fast you are going, make sure you have 8 hours of non-interrupted rest, and they should leave it up to the driver how many hours he wants to drive.

99% of that 52% didn't quit trucking after the ELD mandate, unfortunately.

Trump just meet with the CEO s of big trucking corporations, I wonder why? makes you wonder why? but I know why, because they want Trump to do nothing about this, so that the ELD mandate passes, so they can push the owner operators out, so that the big trucking corporations to take over, so Trump is the swamp. Trump is the scum.

This isn't the free country? It isn't the people choose how many hrs they want to work ? This is the big companies try to put out independent drivers. And how the eld know's my biological clock ? Sooner or lather robots have to drive. Eld is another stupid regulation . Not enough regulations in this country ? Why they don't regulate shippers end receivers? Max one hr in and out . After that $45 per hr cod.

Why don't we forget living in a metal box, like a sardine in a can, and stay home with our families and loved ones, and go in a different industry.By the way there is a shortage of 52000 thousand truck driver jobs in USA in 2017 just forget it, there is not much money in it.

i believe those numbers, do the math people…….if a driver MUST show 10 hour shutdown in a 24 hour period then it means a O/O has only 14 hours a day to make money. How are they going to find their OWN loads on load boards, negotiate with brokers. Get permits, Fax Bills, Fuel their truck, get maintenance done on truck (which they don't get paid for the wait like company drivers do) wait in line to get live loaded at shipper get live unloaded at receiver (remember they only have 1 trailer ) Facts…the local company I drive for we show up and any dock of the 14 thats open we just pull in and unhook go to the preloaded trailer and we out of there. Of the 14 docks the first dock we can't park in thats assigned to owner operators. They be lined up almost out the gate and some ask me you leaving already? yep they tell me they been sitting since 11 am and its 5pm even if they get unloaded 2 hours later they have to get off that dock and there's no parking on the facility or outside and the nearest truckstop or place to park is 5 miles away which means after sitting for 6 to 7 hours they have to move that truck and drive which starts the 14 hour countdown back and those 6-7 hours shutdown are lost. Here's the kicker…..imagine if they drove 7 hours to get to the location.. This is why owner operators are going to be dropping like flies from the trucking industry. ON DUTY OFF DUTY means nothing in this situation which is common. They should go back to the old days when you only had to show 8 hours off duty in a 24 hour period and that 8 hours could be split in 2 as long as one of those splits showed 2 hours or more off duty. So if you sat at a shipper or receiver or waited for dispatch to find a load for 3 hours then before 24 hours was up you only had to show a 5 hour shut down and your day reset once the 5 hours was up. Honestly that should be owner operators fight, to go back to that system because without it they're done its not a opinion its facts and major companies is not going to fight this e-log because it eliminates the competition…… owner operators. Which now allows them to control the trucking industry as they see fit.

14 hrs of service, should also be 14 hrs of potential drive time. So you mean to tell me that out of a 14 hr day, I can only drive 11 hours of that available service time??? Bullshit. That's a potential 90-180 miles you're being robbed of. Hours of Drive time should be equal to the amount of time you are in Service. How much of that HOS drivers are willing to work would obviously vary, depending on the driver and the load itself. And don't tell ME about driver fatigue. I'm from Washington State, and we still have truckers falling asleep at the wheel, and putting their rigs on their sides, and yes they have ELDs. If I can work 14 hrs, I should be able to drive as many of those hrs I can from dusk till dawn or visa-versa. If I'm tired as shit…oh I'm gonna pull off and get some sleep. Let me make my money. Bottom line, if I'm an Independent O/O, no one should be able to tell ME where, when, or how I'm going to work, and how much money I'm going to make!

That what you call "cheat" I call "time management"… And please try not to use this insulting word to my attempts to correct someone's dullness… as for the economy, the state leadership is perfectly aware that all these drivers, who are currently engaged in private transportation, have all kinds of debts and credit cards, loans for housing and education, health insurance and other obligations without having fulfilled which, the driver will become bankrupt, and none of them will protest more than one week without risk for the consequences… for everyone's attention, the credit and banking system in this country has long been transformed from financial to punitive system…Let's punish them by losing the status that they, through our voting, have acquired … just do not vote for those who supported this law …

This is how I see it with ELD you better be a regional or local otherwise you have to go team or get out of the game, I wouldn't recommend nobody to get in trucking anymore

it's should be 740 or 750 per day you are behind 100 miles per day 7 day 700 miles meaning you have spent a complete day of work for free 150 lost on 1 overnight.

Im here in Oakland CA I work from the port of Oakland the ELD s will not work since you spend maybe 8 hours to get out a container so many companies have to hire new drivers to drive from port to yard and regular drivers can only drive it might work many of the drivers here dont know whats going to happen on monday I told some they are shocked I had this thing since August to me its easy better than paper I drove for 25 years.
