Looks like a 1980's interior.. the outside looks modern and up-to-date but the inside is the total opposite but overall I like the truck

I own both. love my manuals and love my automatic. I opted for an automatic for drivers. In this day in age there is now a decline in drivers who know how to truly shift efficiently. I had a driver put it in reverse at a stop light once on a test ride cause he was flustered with a 10 speed transmission. I don't believe that automatics do a disservice to the rest of the trucking industry as a whole,to think so would be proof of being ill informed. there will always be the ones who say "never an automatic!" or manuals better" but there are drivers who literally have an "automatic restriction" on there license and have never shifted in there life! if you get on the up and up with automatic then you still have more options as a business owner when it comes to filling that seat and becoming profitable. Don't get me wrong I love W9's And long nosed trucks all day long. I m all about that "pride in your ride" but when your operating nation wide through different terrain other than south Texas an neighboring flat lands you have to give yourself the best advantage as a business owner or owner operator to be able to stay loaded even on the cheap side of that good paying run going out. As for Mack and Paccar Harold is right! its about service! go by a Freightliner dealer and just look at the line of trucks just to get in. It ridiculous! Freightliners Market hold has decreased tremendously due to there ill ability to service what they sell. They mass produce and lack on quality control(my opinion). As for the after treatment system AKA DEF system Harold is once again correct. It is all about maintenance. Yes it may be an added expense at times but after service to that and the PM and lube you can literally go any where and do any load without hesitation. knowing your rig has been serviced and knowing that you have more time between oil changes according to you engine hours along with better fuel mileage justified the way i view these new def automatic fuel efficient trucks i cant say enough good about them. I like the 13 speed the 18 speeds but the way the future is going you either roll with it or get put out of business. trucks always move, people always need things, oilfield comes and goes and if you can survive in a down market hauling general freight because of the tools you invested in early then you will be able to thrive when every other market is booming. best of luck to every one and always keep an open mind when it comes to change.

Almost got a full year of OTR experience as a Company Driver for a carrier and I’m really interested in buying my own semi next year or the year after.

My three choices from best to last:
    1: Mack Anthem
    2: Volvo VNL 760, 780, or an 860
    3: Freightliner Coronado

Horse power is 445 at 1700 rpm meaning thats how fast the engine has to be turning to put out that much power.
That air gauge is for the air tanks. Primary / secondary. Engine load is so you can try and feather the throttle so when your accelerate you can do it without always using every ounce of engine power
